From December 12th to 15th, the opening ceremony and achievements exhibition of the 29th Science and Technology Festival of Wuhan Institute of Technology were grandly held in the North Building of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center on the Liufang Campus. The College of Resources and Safety Engineering participated in the event, led by Dean He Dongsheng, Deputy Party Secretary Li Jia, Youth League Committee representative Geng Hurui, and other faculty members. The college also showcased core research achievements from four outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship teams. During the opening ceremony, two projects—"[Water Bonding] Technology: Water-Based Chain Extension Method for Constructing Zero-VOC NCO-Terminated Polyurethane Dispersions and Their Applications" and "Golden 'Phosphorus' Shining Toward the Sun"—were awarded the university's 2025 "Outstanding Project Team" title. The supervising faculty members of these projects were also honored with the "Outstanding Supervisor" title.
For a long time, the college has adhered to a development philosophy centered on discipline construction as the guide, scientific innovation as the core, and talent cultivation as the foundation. It focuses on key areas such as resource utilization, safety engineering, and environmental protection technology, while establishing high-level research platforms and encouraging faculty and students to engage in original and applied research. This has fostered a positive innovation ecosystem characterized by "mutual enhancement of teaching and learning, and integration of research and application." In 2025, students from the college achieved remarkable results in disciplinary competitions, winning 2 national first prizes, 2 national second prizes, and 3 national third prizes.
Moving forward, the college will leverage the achievements from this Science and Technology Festival as an opportunity to further deepen reforms in scientific innovation and talent cultivation. It aims to promote the transformation and application of more high-quality scientific and technological achievements, providing stronger intellectual support and technical guarantees for regional innovation-driven development and national strategic needs.
