Professor Elsayed Rabie Elsayed Hassan Joins WIT’s Provincial Innovation and Intelligence Research Base

Reported by this website (Fu Yanhong),To deepen international scientific and technological cooperation and advance innovation in efficient phosphorus resource utilization technology, Professor Elsayed Rabie from the Central Metallurgical Research and Development Institute (CMRDI) recently arrived at Wuhan Institute of Technology(WIT). He has joined the Hubei Provincial Demonstration Base for Innovation and Talent Introduction in Green and Efficient Utilization of Phosphate Ore for a two-month academic exchange and research visit.

Professor Elsayed Rabie specializes in research areas including phosphate ore beneficiation, physical separation technology, and flotation of rare earth elements. During the visit, he collaborated with the research team from the School of Resources and Safety Engineering on frontier technological research, including the development of green flotation reagents, beneficiation of medium and low-grade phosphate ore, and flotation of associated elements in phosphate ore. He also engaged deeply in postgraduate training through specialized lectures, experimental guidance, and thesis revision.


WIT was approved in 2020 to establish the Hubei Provincial Green and Efficient Utilization of Phosphate Ore Innovation and Intelligence Introduction Demonstration Base. As the university’s first provincial-level intelligence introduction platform, it aims to drive technological innovation and industrial upgrading in phosphorus resource development through international cooperation. The base has introduced leading academics and researchers from countries including Russia, the United States and Australia. Leveraging the disciplinary strengths in mining, chemical engineering, and environmental science, it focuses on making key breakthroughs in critical technologies for phosphate ore mining, beneficiation, and comprehensive utilization, striving to build a high-end platform integrating scientific research, talent cultivation, and results promotion.


Professor Elsayed Rabie obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Lorraine in France, where he also conducted postdoctoral research. He is currently engaged in scientific research at the CMRDI. He has achieved significant research accomplishments in fields such as the extraction and processing of rare metals, phosphate ore and rare earth beneficiation, and the treatment and recycling of industrial wastewater.
